Barney Point is a beachside suburb in Gladstone, Queensland, known for its mix of industrial and residential areas. It is bordered by the Coral Sea to the north and east, and the North Coast railway line to the west. The suburb features a sandy beach, parklands, and the Gladstone Maritime Museum, which showcases the region's maritime history. As of the 2021 census, Barney Point had a population of 1,065 people. The area is named after George Barney, a soldier and engineer who served as Lieutenant Governor of the Colony of North Australia in the mid-1800.
