Frequently Asked Questions

What’s a GPCCMP?

A Medicare program for people with long-term health issues.

Am I eligible?

If your pain has lasted 6+ months and affects your daily life, likely yes.

What do I say to my GP?

Just show them the handout — it has a script ready for you.

How much does Medicare cover per session?

As of July 2025, Medicare offers a $61.80 rebate per physiotherapy session under the GPCCMP plan. You’ll pay the full fee upfront, and Medicare rebates you afterward.

How many sessions can I claim per year?

You can access up to 5 subsidised allied health sessions per calendar year — shared across services like physio, osteo, chiro, dietetics, etc.

Can I choose where I go for physio?

Yes — your GP will ask where you’d like to be referred. You can request PhysioCall Gladstone as your preferred provider.

How do I get my rebate from Medicare?

We’ll process your Medicare claim after your appointment. The rebate will appear in your nominated Medicare bank account within 24–48 hours.

What conditions are covered?

The GPCCMP covers any condition that’s lasted 6 months or more — including arthritis, chronic pain, sciatica, postural issues, and tendon injuries.

Can I combine this with a private health fund?

No — you can’t claim both Medicare and private health on the same session. But you can alternate or use private health once Medicare sessions are used up.
